These patties are super easy and super good! We eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner and just change the sides.
Homemade Sausage Patties (serves 3 - 4)
1 lb ground beef, turkey, or pork (preferably pasture raised, grass-fed and/or organic)
1 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 - 2 Tbsp fresh herbs, minced (rosemary, sage, thyme, etc)
1 - 2 Tbsp cooking fat (ghee, coconut oil, bacon grease)
Optional additions ~ minced garlic, onion, other spices like turmeric
Mix ground meat with herbs and spices (I usually do this with my hands).
Separate meat mixture into 4 - 6 individual patties.
Heat cooking fat over medium heat in a skillet.
Once warm, add patties to skillet and cook for a few minutes on each side, turning once.
Cook until they are no longer pink on the inside or the internal temperature reaches the specified temperature for any given meat.
